About Mukta

My Story

I was born in Indore. I studied science at school and college and switched to business economics and services marketing for my post graduation. I moved to Pune when I was 23 (and in the middle of my doctoral thesis) to work with the National Institute of Bank Management.

I was awarded the Senior research fellowship for her Post-doctoral work by the AMDISA. I then pursued and completed the Wharton Accelerated Development Program. I worked for about 19 years as a management professional in the areas of Strategy, Marketing, Human Capital Development and Organizational Design and Development with various large corporates including the Tata Group, Cummins, RPG , Bajaj Auto etc. In 2017, I founded my own organizational development and human capital development consulting firm – MUKTA – Liberating Human Potential (www.muktakamplikar.com), and that’s what I do for a living. I traveled the world for work and leisure during the last 24 years and continue to do so.

I wrote since I was a child. But I began to paint only after I came to Pune and soon began combining the pen with my brush and created picture books that were free to be interpreted by the reader/viewer.  Freedom, love and relating have been my themes ever since be it my work , my paintings, or my writing. Being a woman I also specially write for women.I continue to blend art (including music and theatre) and literature with my consulting work as well.

My first book Traces Faces Lives Spaces (2014) was a collection of my paintings and little haiku like poems. In 2017, I wrote Solitary Spaces- my second collection of short, liberated stories followed by Moods and Moons (2019)– which is a collection of poems about the various moods that the moon evokes.

The Girl and the Time-lapse is my latest book which is a collection of my experiences of the five seasons that rolled during the pandemic in 2020. The book has just been launched in Feb 2021

Influences – St Antoine de Exupery , Richard Bach, Kahlil Gibran, Haruki Murakami , Rainer Maria Rilke, Amrita Pritam, Maya Angelou

Solitary Spaces

A collection of Liberated Stories – These stories are reflections from trave, from work, from home, from dreams and from journeys deep within myself. These are spells that liberate me to experience joie de vivre and love

Being and Becoming

A little book of choices – These are applications, observations and experiences as we traverse the journey from being to becoming. There are struggles, dilemmas, crossroads and then there is the power of choice.

Traces Faces Lives Spaces

“Traces” is my interpretation of what I have felt with my entire being – expression in words(little poems) and creations (paintings). It is my version of truth, of life, of space and of love; it is an extension of my“self”. It is my hope that it reaches out and finds a reflection in your soul.

Indian classical literature lists 116 phases of the moon ,which has been captured by poets and writers since time immemorial.I have read and absorbed all of Mukta’s writings.Moods and Moons reflect what she is -part woman, part child. She blends the wisdom of Sappho and poetry of Gulzar through her musings . Her words have the lure of classical romantic poetry ,yet refreshingly avante garde.

Mukta’s writings are reflective of someone deeply in touch with herself. With her words she conjures up a world that takes you to places familiar but often unvisited by yourself. With her soulful words, she churns up emotions that have laid still for long and some which seek an answer. She paints an intimate canvas with her palette of feelings.
